زيادة تعريفة العدّاد: إضراب عند سائقي التاكسي يوم 19 ماي!

In a move to voice their demands, the Head of the Individual Taxi Union, Nader Kazdaghli, announced during his appearance on the program “Weekend Ala Kef”, on Sunday, May 11, 2025, that a full strike will be carried out on May 19 in the Greater Tunis region. This action aims to call for an increase in taxi meter fares.

Nader Kazdaghli also stated that they are planning a protest, either in front of the Ministry of Transport or the Parliament. He emphasized that taxi drivers have the right to benefit from a fare increase similar to the salary increases enjoyed by Tunisian citizens.

The taxi sector is facing numerous challenges, according to Kazdaghli. Despite being targeted by criminals and the Consumer Protection Organization—which urged them not to strike, even though it is a constitutional right—the struggle continues.

Kazdaghli directed a message to the Minister of Transport, urging, “Give us our rights regarding the meter and remove the applications.”
